Even though at first she feels like it doesn't suit her, she eventually gets used to it, and even begins to enjoy wearing them. During practice, she leads the training of the group.Kanan usually wears more athletic clothes and isn't used to being very "girly", but she takes a liking to the cute, girly school-idol costumes after she tries them on. She has incredible stamina as she often goes diving and jogs everyday in the morning, which causes the rest of Aqours to find it difficult to keep up with her. She also loves astronomical observation and swimming. She is talented in diving and ship handling, likely from being brought up in diving-gear shop. In general, Kanan is a very sweet and loving girl who is kind to everyone by nature, and has loved hugging others since childhood, even hugging people she barely knew. Turns out, the aloofness Kanan displayed towards her was a deliberate act out of kindness on her end because she cared that much for Mari, and didn't want her to give up on her future possibilities. Kanan spent most of the first season coldly pushing away Mari after the latter's return while outright refusing to reconcile with her once best friend after an incident in the past that broke her, Mari's, and Dia's friendships apart. A mature but laid-back person, she rarely sweats the details and usually maintains a calm, cool demeanor. She lives with her grandfather, who runs a diving shop on a nearby island.
Kanan is a third-year student at Uranohoshi Girls' High School.
